In short

PlayInnovation is relevant to participation-led outdoor spaces, not simply to a search for regulation competition courts. England Squash reports its involvement in smaller outdoor courts at Ark Victoria Academy in Birmingham.

Considering PlayInnovation? Start with your project.

Tell us the location, intended users and installation type. We can help you navigate supplier options, the project brief and next steps.

We will disclose any supplier-paid referral fee before making an introduction. Directory inclusion does not imply an agreement or endorsement.

Coverage note

The Birmingham project has governing-body corroboration. It does not establish full-size dimensions or that the same model is appropriate for every school or public site. Inclusion is not a contractor recommendation, independent performance test or certification. Published offers can change; confirm availability for your site.

Where this offer may fit

Consider when the aim is a school's first squash offer or a community activity space. The brief should cover teachers, sessions, supervision and a route into continued court play as well as the equipment.

Institutional project evidence

England Squash's April 2025 report describes two permanent outdoor courts at Ark Victoria Academy and identifies PlayInnovation's involvement. It explicitly describes the courts as smaller than full-size courts.

A wider play-space business

PlayInnovation's own site presents sports and play-space design and installation. A specific squash proposal should identify the court format and the intended activities rather than rely on its wider portfolio.

Decisions before choosing this route

These are Squash Dog's project questions, not additional supplier commitments.

Participation format, not inferred regulation
Measure success by safe first hits, repeat participation and progression. Do not advertise smaller courts as regulation competition facilities.
Fund the sessions too
A school needs equipment storage, trained staff, timetable access and safeguarding arrangements. Public use also needs clear supervision and opening arrangements.

What to include in a quotation

Budget for the play space, surfacing, enclosure, markings, equipment, staff training, storage and continuing sessions. A court-only quote does not fund a participation programme.

No current project price has been independently verified here. Ask for a dated quote with assumptions, exclusions, installation programme and component-specific warranties. A product price alone is not a whole-project budget.

Questions to ask PlayInnovation

  • What are the exact dimensions, ball and activity formats for the proposed installation?
  • What training, safeguarding and session resources will the school need?
  • How can pupils progress from this space into regular squash?

How Squash Dog can help

Tell us the location, users, installation type and whether the priority is a new court, a repair or better access to play. We can help organise a comparable brief, identify suitable conversations and keep the wider building and operating questions in view.

Use the relevant local professionals for engineering, consent, safety and formal specifications. We do not claim to certify installations or act as the court manufacturer.

Squash Dog can help you prepare the brief, compare suitable options and arrange introductions. If a supplier pays us a referral fee, we will explain that arrangement before the introduction. Inclusion here does not imply a commercial agreement, and payment does not determine the directory order.
