Gear

Choose equipment with confidence.

Choose the basics for your level, your body and the court you use.

Rackets

A comfortable grip, manageable weight and good balance matter more than prestige. Beginners do not need the most expensive racket; a coach or specialist retailer can help with fit and string condition.

Balls

Ball choice changes the whole experience. Coloured markings indicate different performance characteristics, but temperature, altitude and player ability also affect bounce. Choose for playable rallies, not status.

Shoes

Use stable, clean, non-marking indoor court shoes where the venue requires them. Running shoes are designed for forward movement and may not provide the lateral support expected on a squash court.

Eye protection

Protective eyewear is especially important for juniors and doubles. Follow the rules of your venue, competition and national body, and choose equipment made for court sports.
