An exploratory Cairo project to understand how visible outdoor squash and inclusive local programming could fit within the city’s existing sports ecosystem.
No site, funding or delivery agreement is confirmed. No organisation has endorsed, approved or partnered with this project.
The opportunity
A first rally. A reason to return.
Explore whether welcoming outdoor squash can help people watch, try and continue playing, alongside Cairo’s existing clubs and public youth and sports programmes.
Shaped by the community
Cairo is the initial research area. The first stage is to map local priorities, public and private provision, communities, sites, operators, coaches and funding routes. Cairo’s jurisdiction and any wider Greater Cairo catchment need to be defined before site or population comparisons.
We want to hear from people who may not already play, alongside existing coaches and clubs. New activity should complement local provision and valued public space.
Local priorities, practical proposals
How squash could contribute
Start with local squash provision
The Egyptian Squash Federation publishes a club directory and national competition information. Cairo also has established squash venues and coaching networks. Identify which facilities are accessible to newcomers, which are membership-based, and how a public-facing project could complement existing provision.
Cairo Governorate has a Sports and Youth Directorate and publishes information about its youth-centre and sports activities. The next research step is to identify the programmes, districts and decision routes that could support inclusive participation. A public directory does not establish demand or project support.
Keep national and continental relationships distinct
The Egyptian Squash Federation is the national squash body. The Squash Federation of Africa provides a separate continental layer. Both may help identify local expertise and development routes, but no involvement in this project is established.
CIB says it supports the Egyptian Squash Federation and national team, including junior players and equipment. This is a relevant sponsorship precedent for research. It does not establish CIB support, a funding route or a sponsorship discussion for Let’s Bounce: Cairo.
These are options to shape locally, not an available timetable. Facilities and formats remain supplier-neutral and subject to suitability, safety and operating resources.
Dated progress
The discussion so far
Cairo moved into exploratory research
We have begun mapping Cairo’s squash ecosystem, public youth and sports priorities, local programming, potential partners and site pathways. This is an early research project; no partner, site, court number, funding or deployment is confirmed.
Help shape the next step
Bring your local knowledge.
Schools, community groups, clubs and businesses can help us understand what people need and how a first activity could work.
You can share feedback, discuss possible involvement, suggest a host or explore sponsorship. An expression of interest helps shape the conversation; it does not commit you or your organisation to a programme.

Business and delivery
Support a useful programme
Businesses can explore funded access, equipment, coaching or practical expertise. We will develop a costed proposal around community priorities and continuing participation, with capital and running costs considered separately.
