TPoint Outdoor Squash Hub, Tel Aviv

A four-court smart outdoor squash hub in a central Tel Aviv park, publicly launched by 2021 and listed by Tpoint as a destination since 2020.

Delivered referenceReviewed

Squash Info’s 1 April 2021 report describes TPoint as an initiative by entrepreneur Yossi Fixman in partnership with ASB Squash and with support from Tel Aviv Municipality and its sports department. The article reports a €1.5 million hub with four multifunctional ASB GlassCourts and public access through the TPoint app. The “first” description in the 2021 source is “first smart outdoor squash court complex”; Hamilton Fish Park’s earlier 2018 free-to-play public court is a separate and earlier milestone. Tpoint’s current site dates the Tel Aviv destination to 2020, so the public announcement date and destination start date are recorded separately. Squash Dog did not deliver this project.

A multi-court outdoor hub

The 2021 launch report described four multifunctional glass courts in a park in central Tel Aviv, forming a €1.5 million TPoint hub. The project was presented as a way to make squash more visible and accessible in the city.

Digital access and operation

The article reported that the courts were controlled through the TPoint app and could be used throughout the year. These are launch-era descriptions; current operating arrangements and year-round availability have not been independently confirmed.

A distinct outdoor milestone

TPoint was described as the world’s first smart outdoor squash court complex. Hamilton Fish Park’s free-to-play public outdoor court opened in 2018, so the two records describe different milestones; TPoint should not be presented as the first public outdoor squash court.

What Let’s Bounce can learn

A multi-court hub can support different users and activity at one visible location. Digital booking may help manage access, but successful public participation also depends on an accountable operator, welcoming introductions and a route to keep playing.
