The opportunity
A first rally. A reason to return.
Bring squash into places where people already gather, with room to watch, try a first rally and return for regular play. We are exploring a multi-court community venue supported by local programming, suitable equipment and a practical route into nearby clubs.
National discussion, local delivery
Malaysia’s new SRAM leadership has highlighted grassroots participation and stronger state association cooperation alongside its LA28 ambitions. We have shared a proposal with SRAM inviting a conversation about bringing a state association, local authority, community hosts and corporate sponsors together. A location and delivery team would be shaped through that conversation.
Any pilot needs a defined region, community, host and delivery team. This discussion does not mean Let’s Bounce operates across the country.
Local priorities, practical proposals
How squash could contribute
Let’s Bounce: more courts, more community
Explore outdoor, all-weather courts in a prominent location with strong footfall, clear sightlines and a welcoming space to watch. A multi-court layout could accommodate squash alongside complementary activities, with local review of heat, rain, drainage, safety and maintenance.
Introduce newcomers to a format that suits them, using appropriate balls and equipment to make playable rallies easier. Locally led sessions could connect school visits, family activity and beginner coaching with regular play at the venue and nearby clubs.
The proposed model brings together a state association, a local authority or landowner, clubs, coaches, community organisations and corporate sponsors. Capital funding and support for affordable sessions, staffing and maintenance need to be planned together.
Malaysia’s Olympic ambitions create a timely reason to make squash more visible. The proposal would give people a local opportunity to watch, try and keep playing, including a recreational route for those who are not pursuing performance squash.
Schools, parents, disabled participants and local community groups should help shape the venue and programme. Review step-free journeys, court access, shade, rest areas, suitable session formats and safeguarding responsibilities from the start.
Suitable spaces could also host yoga, stretching, movement games and other locally chosen activities. A shared timetable would help the venue serve a wider community while protecting court suitability and squash access.
These are options to shape locally, not an available timetable. Facilities and formats remain supplier-neutral and subject to suitability, safety and operating resources.

The discussion so far
A multi-court community proposal shared
We have written to SRAM’s new president to introduce Hello, Squash and Let’s Bounce and invite a conversation about a multi-court community venue in Malaysia. We are seeking local input on partners, locations and programming.
Help shape the next step
Bring your local knowledge.
Schools, community groups, clubs and businesses can help us understand what people need and how a first activity could work.
You can share feedback, discuss possible involvement, suggest a host or explore sponsorship. An expression of interest helps shape the conversation; it does not commit you or your organisation to a programme.

Business and delivery
Support a useful programme
Businesses can explore funded access, equipment, coaching or practical expertise. We will develop a costed proposal around community priorities and continuing participation, with capital and running costs considered separately.
