Research whether visible outdoor squash and locally shaped community programming could complement Abuja’s established indoor courts, junior tournaments and squash organisations.
Help people notice squash, try a suitable format and find a route into regular local play, building on existing Abuja activity rather than duplicating it.
Shaped by the community
Abuja has hosted Nigeria Squash Federation junior training and grassroots activity, the Squash Premier League and the 2026 Squash in Diaspora junior championship at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Package B. These reports establish a strong existing squash ecosystem and local delivery candidates. They do not establish a need for a new outdoor court, a site, a host, project partners, permission or funding. The first question is where visible community activity would complement existing provision and whom it should serve.
We want to hear from people who may not already play, alongside existing coaches and clubs. New activity should complement local provision and valued public space.
Local priorities, practical proposals
How squash could contribute
Build on squash already happening in Abuja
The Nigeria Squash Federation, the Squash Premier League and the Squash Ex-Pros in the Diaspora have all reported junior or grassroots activity in Abuja. The 2026 diaspora championship brought players from the FCT and other states to the Moshood Abiola National Stadium. Any Let’s Bounce work should complement this activity and create a useful route from first encounter to regular play.
The reports describe established indoor squash courts and competition at Package B of the national stadium. They do not show whether neighbourhoods lack accessible ways to discover or try squash. Local players, families, schools and community organisations should help identify any gap before a court concept or site is considered.
Public reporting identifies the Nigeria Squash Federation, the Squash Premier League and the diaspora tournament organisers as contributors to junior development. Transcorp Hilton Abuja has separately supported federation activity and been described as a training hub. These are evidence-based discovery leads; none has agreed to support Let’s Bounce.
Any future activity would need an authorised local host, adult-led safeguarding arrangements, accessible participation, permission for the chosen space, an operating plan and sustainable programming. Schools and young players should be engaged through responsible organisations and guardians. No location or delivery plan has been selected.
These are options to shape locally, not an available timetable. Facilities and formats remain supplier-neutral and subject to suitability, safety and operating resources.

Project updates
Abuja added for local ecosystem research
Public reports point to an active junior and grassroots squash ecosystem in Abuja, including federation activity, the Squash Premier League and the Squash Ex-Pros in the Diaspora tournament. We are researching how visible community participation might complement existing courts. No outdoor court, site, host, partner, funding or delivery is agreed.
Help shape the next step
Bring your local knowledge.
Schools, community groups, clubs and businesses can help us understand what people need and how a first activity could work.
You can share feedback, discuss possible involvement, suggest a host or explore sponsorship. An expression of interest helps shape the conversation; it does not commit you or your organisation to a programme.
