Let’s Bounce: Marble Arch fountain terrace

Outdoor squash in Marble Arch, Westminster

An exploratory outdoor squash opportunity beside the Marble Arch fountains, testing whether a visible central location could welcome new players and community activity.

No site, funding or delivery agreement is confirmed. Organisation engagement is an early conversation, not an endorsement or agreed partnership.

The opportunity

A first rally. A reason to return.

Explore a temporary, carefully programmed activation that helps people discover squash, enjoy a suitable first rally and find a route into regular play. Community input, inclusive access and responsible operation belong in the design from the outset.

Shaped by the community

The enquiry concerns the fountain terrace, rather than the whole of Marble Arch island. Transport for London has directed the island-management question to Westminster. The precise terrace boundary, landowner, responsible team and availability still need confirmation; this does not establish permission for an activation.

We want to hear from people who may not already play, alongside existing coaches and clubs. New activity should complement local provision and valued public space.

The discussion so far

The management enquiry narrowed

A response to the management enquiry identified Westminster as the next authority route for Marble Arch island. The specific terrace boundary, landowner and permission process still need confirmation. No activation consent or site availability is established.

Help shape the next step

Bring your local knowledge.

Schools, community groups, clubs and businesses can help us understand what people need and how a first activity could work.

You can share feedback, discuss possible involvement, suggest a host or explore sponsorship. An expression of interest helps shape the conversation; it does not commit you or your organisation to a programme.

Business and delivery

Support a useful programme

Businesses can explore funded access, equipment, coaching or practical expertise. We will develop a costed proposal around community priorities and continuing participation, with capital and running costs considered separately.
