Why current models only

A recommendation is only useful if you can buy the racket. Discontinued frames turn up second hand at unpredictable prices and in unknown condition, and their specifications are often reported from memory rather than from a brand source.

So the selector and the comparison only ever draw on models recorded as current. Archived records are held separately and are excluded by the code itself, not by editorial habit.

What an archive would need first

• A source for each specification that is still reachable, or an honest note that it is not.
• The date the model was withdrawn, where that can be established.
• A clear label on every page so an archived frame can never be mistaken for a current one.
• A reason for the entry: a frame people still ask about, not simply an old product.
