Explore schools and communitiesLet’s Bounce: Medellín
An early Medellín opportunity suggested in the Colombian federation discussion, focused on wider access and sustained community participation.
No site, funding or delivery agreement is confirmed. Organisation engagement is an early conversation, not an endorsement or agreed partnership.
The opportunity
Assess where visible squash could welcome new participants in Medellín. A credible local proposal should connect schools, community groups, coaches and existing clubs, with affordable introductions and regular reasons to return.
Medellín was named by the federation as one of several locations worth exploring beyond Bogotá. That suggestion is a starting point for research, rather than evidence of an agreed host, municipal involvement or unmet demand.
We want to hear from people who may not already play, alongside existing coaches and clubs. New activity should complement local provision and valued public space.
Possible programme
Welcoming introductions, suitable equipment and sessions led by appropriate adults and coaches. Tell us what would be useful for your community.
Explore schools and communitiesRight Ball Squash, singles, suitable social doubles and Squash 57, with a practical onward route into local clubs and regular activity.
Explore play that keeps goingDisabled participants should help shape the journey, facilities and adapted programme. Court suitability and support need practical review.
Explore access from the startThese are options to shape locally, not an available timetable. Facilities and formats remain supplier-neutral and subject to suitability, safety and operating resources.
Dated progress
The Colombian federation has suggested assessing Bogotá, Medellín, Quindío and Cali, with broader community access as a priority. One court in Bogotá and a second elsewhere is an option to discuss. An exploratory call and initial site shortlist are the next steps; no site, court allocation, funding or delivery is agreed.
Help shape the next step
Schools, community groups, clubs and businesses can help us understand what people need and how a first activity could work.
You can share feedback, discuss possible involvement, suggest a host or explore sponsorship. An expression of interest helps shape the conversation; it does not commit you or your organisation to a programme.
Tell us about your school, your priorities and the sort of involvement you would like to discuss.
